How Am I Supposed to Care for My Wig
-
Unless your Wig arrives styled and ready to install, co-wash your wigs/weaves prior to wearing them.
-
Use lukewarm water to cleanse wigs/weaves.
-
Only use mild moisturizing or sulfate and alcohol free products on your extensions/wigs. Products containing alcohol will certainly dry out your extensions/wig.
-
Do NOT skip the conditioner….condition your weave/wigs after EVERY shampoo!
-
Using a wide tooth comb, comb from ends to root to avoid tangling and breakage. Do not comb or brush excessively. Do not brush wet hair
-
Always use fingers or a wide tooth comb on wet hair. A paddle brush can be used for styling once hair is completely dry.
-
If possible, allow hair to air dry. This will extend the longevity of the hair by preventing exposure from excessive heat.
-
If hair extensions appear to look dull, use a very light oil…an example is Design Essentials Silk Essentials Serum.
-
If you are new to Wigs or lack the necessary knowledge to install, please see a professional stylist.
-
Lace is delicate, so you must be gentle. If not, you could rip, puncture or tear the lace. If you are wearing HD lace, it is much thinner and fragile than Swiss lace, so be gentle and take your time during installs.
-
Wavy and Curly texture extensions /wigs require more maintenance than Body Wave and Straight extensions /wigs. To prevent breakage/tangling on Wavy and Curly extensions, keep extensions moisturized.
-
If you are not removing your wig at night then sleep with a silk/satin scarf, bonnet or pillowcase to protect the extensions from friction.
-
Tie lace down with head tie/scarf at night when sleeping, during showering, workouts and excessive exposure to heat/sunlight. *If you experience sweating while wearing lace during workouts and etc…allow your body to cool down before removing head tie/scarf.
-
Chemical processing such as color and bleaching WILL shorten the lifespan of your extensions/wigs. Color treated wigs/extensions will require more co-washing and deep conditioning
